I am Sarah, just call me Princess Sarah to make it different from other  Sarahs’, hehe! I’m a strict but committed and faithful mother, a loving and seductive (at times)  wife to my sweetie (my one and only dear), a committed teacher, a friend in need, Jesus is my friend. I cried to Him when I get hurt or feeling lonely.

I’m blessed with 2 sons and a loving husband. I enjoy singing, cross-stitching, teaching, training a choir, playing the piano, strumming the guitar, cooking different dishes and many others. I’m not fond of cleaning always, I easily get tired and bored, that’s why I’m blessed witha husband who loves to clean the house and wash clothes if he has time. He also cooks at times.

My Memory

When I was in the elementary years, I love to study together with my sisters and one brother. I was blessed to be the First Honors when I graduated in Elementary and Salutatorian in High School. We all did great when we were in Elementary but I still excel in high school.  My parents were glad to pay less because I was an honor student in High School. I love music and discovered more of my potentials and skills in music when I was in High School.

When I was about to finish my High School, I was encouraged by a young Bible worker to study in a Bible School, although my Nanay (mother) disagreed of my decision, I pursued my dream to study in the Bible School. There I was trained to be a singer and a musician. I learned a lot and enjoyed being with my classmates.

After all those years studying and working in a church as a music coordinator and teacher in Sunday School, my Nanay still longed   for me to study in college to have my own degree. After 4 years of waiting, I decided to take up a 4-year course. I enrolled in one of the colleges taking Bachelor in Secondary Education (BSEd) major in English.

The Start of my College Life

Before the enrollment, I was encouraged by a friend in our church to join the  Glee Club audition. This is a singing group, if I will be chosen as one of the members I will be under the rules but free from any payments thereof. So I decided and gave a try. I love music, I thought, and I want to be developed more in this kind of talent God has given me.

I prepared myself and join the audition. I was blessed after the audition because I was chosen as one of the members. Then I went to the cashier’s office for signature because I need not to pay anything. But she asked me what to choose, to be in the top 1 list because of my credentials or to be with Glee Club. After a long thought, I chose to be a Glee Club. I love music more than joining the A-1 students, that was my fault because I can do both if I chose 2, to be with the top 1 list and still join Glee Club. I didn’t know what to do at first and I was so attracted to singing. I started to enroll and chose the subjects.

Since I started to practice my singing ability, I was blessed with friends and we were given a chance to get involved in so many activities in and out of school. We were having concerts here and there and joined in many contests. That was an amazing and memorable happenings of my life.

After 2 years of being involved in Glee Club, we were given a chance to join the national contest. Practices were stricter and most of our time were spent for vocalization, we even spent time to practice new songs and very difficult songs. Since it was a national contest, so we forced ourselves to give more time. We won in the regional level (Region VI – Western Visayas) so we prepared to join in the national level. That was an exciting part of our journey as Glee Club members. Manay Lily was our trainor (that’s what we call her), the mother of Nolin Cabahug who was known for his tenor singing voice (was singing do re mi) in one of the advertisements during those times.

We were supported by the head of the department (culture and sports) and the school as a whole. Although the city didn’t give their full support, we move on. We tried to ask help from friends and family to help us for our expenses. After 2 months of preparations, we were on our way, we’re all tensed but with the help of our heads, friends and families  everything was prepared.

Then came the contest. By the way, we had 3 different costumes. We were all excited to see CCP ( Cultural Center of the Phils. ) Manila, the place for the contest. There were 14 regions in all to participate in the event. We will be joining in the singing category (College Choir). There were 50 of us, including the different instrumentalists who were also singing together with us. A day before the contest proper, we had some practices to feel the place and the surrounding atmosphere which for us was very different from the province.

During the practice we felt like underdogs by the known colleges and universities in Luzon ( especially Manila). All of the singers had their own pitch pipe, big and proud students. We were taken for granted by other colleges. They looked down to us. Yet we moved on and gave our best.
