One of my hubby’s most unforgettable experiences before was having an eczema. It contracted that kind of skin diseases a month after his FTX (Field training Exercises). It could be due to his sloppy attention of caring for his feet. But how could you properly care for your feet when everything around you is wet? When you’re always on the move – you have to trudge for long hours end – through muck and swamps. Most of the time your feet will be wet day in and day out as what my hubby shared.
During one of those hellish days – he remembered taking off his combat boots to change into a new socks – he was so surprised how pale looking, so soft and tender his feet were. As he gave more attention – thin, skin flakes peeled out from the sole of his foot, and in between the toes, a boil started to form and when it burst was so itchy – little did he knew that it was the beginning of eczema pictures spreading to his feet and even some in his hands.
Having an eczema was one of those trying moments he’d experienced. Somehow he felt like an outcast, it makes him extremely self-conscious. He felt deprived of the joy in socializing with others. Deep inside he felt a kind of anticipation. So what he did was to go out and check on the different eczema treatment available over the counter.
Some of the eczema treatments fail to give even a bit of relief to him. Others so exorbitant in their prices – but still he was using any treatment he could lay his hands on – his goal was to get rid of the eczema that pestered him once and for all.
Out of this experience, he learned how to cope up with it, emotionally and socially.
